230 kg of Illegal Tobacco Seized in Zielona Góra Courier Facility
The Lubuskie branch of the National Revenue Administration (KAS) seized over 230 kg of illegal tobacco in a courier sorting facility in Zielona Góra. Officers discovered 127 parcels containing tobacco without Polish excise stamps, packed in half-kilogram and one-kilogram plastic bags. The shipments originated from seven senders in Zielona Góra and surrounding areas and were intended for recipients across Poland.
A total of 237.5 kg of illegal tobacco was secured, preventing an estimated tax loss of over 300,000 PLN for the state budget. Authorities emphasize that possession, trade, and smuggling of untaxed tobacco products constitute tax crimes, punishable by heavy fines or up to three years in prison for larger quantities.
