Lubuskie Recognizes Outstanding Individuals for Their Contributions
During the February 10, 2025, session of the Lubuskie Regional Council, three distinguished individuals—Alicja Kłosowicz, Dariusz Maksymowicz, and Krzysztof Pobiedziński—were honored with the Honorary Badge for Merits to the Lubuskie Region. The awards were presented by Marshal Marcin Jabłoński and Council Chairwoman Anna Synowiec, with a tribute read by Andrzej Janecki, Director of the Council Office.
Meet the Honorees
Alicja Kłosowicz – Advocate for Culture and Sustainability
Alicja Kłosowicz has played a key role in promoting Lubuskie’s culture nationwide through competitions and exhibitions. She has also been active in EU programs, sharing her expertise on funding opportunities. Her dedication extends to ecology and recycling, teaching at the University of the Third Age in Gubin and leading traditional handicraft workshops at community events.
Dariusz Maksymowicz – Champion of Sports and Road Safety
A former triathlon silver medalist at the Polish Junior Championships (1989) and a retired police officer, Dariusz Maksymowicz has made significant contributions to sports and public safety. He was responsible for traffic management at major cycling events and helped establish a youth cycling league in Stary Kisielin. His work as a sports event organizer has left a lasting impact on Lubuskie’s athletic community.
Krzysztof Pobiedziński – Defender of Heritage and Security
A military officer with over 30 years of service, Pobiedziński played a key role in crisis management across Lubuskie’s institutions. As Vice President of the Society of Krośnieńska Land Lovers, he has been instrumental in preserving the region’s history and culture. His contributions include promoting regional traditions and supporting defense and integration initiatives.
