Lubuskie Voivodeship Invests in Cybersecurity: New Security Operations Center Underway
The Lubuskie Voivodeship is taking a significant step towards digital security with the development of a Security Operations Center (SOC). This initiative is part of the European Funds for Lubuskie 2021-2027 program under the “Digital Lubuskie” project, aimed at transforming e-administration and public digital services.
With a total budget of PLN 30 million, the project is primarily funded by the European Union (PLN 25.6 million), with the remaining amount covered by the region’s own funds. After receiving a positive assessment, the funding decision was finalized on December 30, 2024.
The primary goal of the SOC is to enhance cybersecurity for both existing and new e-services and IT systems within the region. The center will also strengthen regional digital infrastructure, ensuring that government services remain secure and reliable. Additionally, the SOC will play a key role in developing cybersecurity skills within the region.
The project includes several key activities:
- Delivery and deployment of SOC infrastructure
- Configuration and implementation of cybersecurity procedures
- Regular vulnerability testing
- Cybersecurity training programs
- Formation of a SOC competence team
The main beneficiaries of the project are:
- The Lubuskie Voivodeship, including the Marshal’s Office and subordinate public units
- Employees of 20 government units, particularly in healthcare
- Residents of the Lubuskie Voivodeship, who will benefit from secure e-services
This initiative will improve the security of digital services, encouraging greater use of online government platforms while ensuring data protection and cybersecurity.
