Massive Warehouse Fire in Górzykowo near Cigacice

A massive fire broke out at a warehouse in Górzykowo near Cigacice on February 8, 2025. The warehouse, belonging to DBW Polska, measures 50 by 100 meters. Firefighters received the call shortly before 1 PM, and by 4:26 PM, 60 firefighters with 17 fire trucks were on the scene.

Authorities, including the Mayor of Zielona Góra, assured residents that there is no threat to the city. The fire is under control but remains challenging due to high temperatures and heavy smoke. Residents have been advised to keep windows and doors closed.

The fire reportedly started from burning heating oil in one of the tanks, spreading inside the warehouse. Seven employees inside managed to evacuate safely. Large clouds of black smoke are visible from afar, and people in nearby areas are warned to avoid inhaling the fumes.

DBW Polska, a manufacturer of fiberglass, metals, and steel wool products for the automotive industry, has operated in Górzykowo for about 30 years.
