Authorities in Lubuskie have dismantled illegal casinos operating in Nowa Sól and Sulęcin. The raid, conducted by local police and officers from the Customs and Tax Administration (KAS), led to the seizure of illegal gaming machines and a significant amount of drugs.
Illegal Casino in Nowa Sól
Police and customs officers entered a premises in Nowa Sól, suspecting illegal gambling activities. Inside, they found several people playing on gaming machines. An inspection confirmed that the games were based on chance and not skill.
Ten computers used for illegal gambling were seized, with an estimated value of around 120,000 PLN.
Illegal Casino in Sulęcin
Another raid took place in Sulęcin, where five gaming machines were discovered. A forensic experiment confirmed that these machines were used for illegal gambling. All machines were confiscated and sent to the Customs Office warehouse.
Additionally, officers found over 660 grams of amphetamine, 630 grams of marijuana, hallucinogenic mushrooms, an ecstasy tablet, and 30 grams of mephedrone. The total value of the seized goods, including the gaming machines, is estimated at nearly 140,000 PLN. A 41-year-old man was arrested and detained for three months.
Legal Consequences
Running gambling operations without a license is a criminal offense. Offenders face a fine and up to three years in prison.
