New Fire Truck for Żagań Firefighters Will Replace the Old Vehicle

The State Fire Service in Żagań will soon receive a brand-new heavy fire truck to replace its aging Iveco Eurotrakker, which has been in service since 2005. The Provincial Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Gorzów Wielkopolski has already announced a tender for the purchase of the new vehicle, kicking off 2025 with an important upgrade.

According to the specifications, the new fire truck must have a chassis produced in 2024 or later, a 6×6 drive system with a disconnectable front axle, and an engine with a minimum power of 448 horsepower. The vehicle should feature a three-person cabin, a water tank with a capacity between 7,000 and 9,000 liters, and a corrosion-resistant body.

The cost of the new truck is estimated at 1.3 million złotys (excluding VAT). It will be a basic version without specialized equipment, known as a “bare-bones” vehicle. The contractor is only required to install mounting brackets for the equipment that Żagań firefighters already own. The truck will come equipped with new warning cones and rubber hose bridges.

The tender submission deadline is February 28, and the chosen supplier must deliver the vehicle within three months of signing the contract but no later than June 16. A minimum warranty of 24 months is also required.

The new truck will most likely serve the Żagań Rescue and Firefighting Unit, enhancing their fleet and ensuring more efficient operations.
