Pediatric Healthcare – New Ambulance for Zielona Góra University Hospital

The University Hospital in Zielona Góra has added a new pediatric ambulance to its fleet, just months after acquiring a neonatal ambulance. This is the first ambulance at the hospital built on a container-based design, ensuring greater comfort for both medical staff and patients. The vehicle, a Volkswagen Crafter, is equipped with advanced features such as electric transport stretchers, a defibrillator with vital sign monitoring, and a cardiology chair for transporting patients in a seated position.

The purchase was made possible thanks to funding from the Lubuskie regional government, which contributed 980,000 PLN, while the hospital added 3,500 PLN from its own budget. According to hospital president Dr. Marek Działoszyński, the high mileage of the hospital’s ambulances—up to 100,000 km per year—makes regular replacements essential.

In 2022, the hospital donated one of its old ambulances to Ukraine. The newly acquired vehicle will significantly improve pediatric care and may also support nearby hospitals like the one in Sulechów.
